Canvas Gallery Wrap / Bleed
When you place your order through our online system you will be given two choices of style for your canvas. You can either have the image printed onto the front of the canvas, leaving the edgs of the canvas white, or you can opt for a "gallery wrap".In the gallery wrap style we continue the image onto the sides of the canvas so there are no white edges. This service does not cost any extra but it is very important when choosing the gallery wrap style to make sure that their is nothing vital in your image close to the edge. If you have a close cropped portrait then parts of the face will end up being "wrapped" onto the sides of the canvas which is not ideal.
When we gallery wrap an image we take 2 inches from each edge of the canvas to wrap onto the sides as illustrated below. If you would like to size your image before sending it to us then just remember to add these 2 inches to each side. For example if you were after a 16inch x 24inch gallery wrap then you would need to size the image to 20inch x 28inch which allows us to take 2 inches from each side.
People often ask us which looks the best, gallery wrap or plain edges. The truth is that both styles look great and it all boils down to personal taste.
